2004 Season - Week 19
And then there were four
Congratulations to Atlanta (who ran for 327 yards), Pittsburgh (who have won 15 straight), Philadelphia (who will play in their 4th straight Championship game), and New England (who yet again made Peyton Manning look like a bad Rookie - his younger brother anyone).
And then there were four
Our Championship games see two heated rivalries. Firstly Mark the number 2 seed plays the only owner who provided a divisional upset the number 12 seed Stampy. They have met twice before both in the Divisional round with Stampy winning 35-31 in 1999 and Mark getting revenge 36-29 in 2002. The other matchup see’s Chief (ranked 6) playing Marcus (seeded 7). They’ve only met once in the 2002 BUMSBowl where Marcus prevented his Dad from doing the Double as he defeated him 30-15. Teams to me by 10am Sunday please.
Draft Order
In the same way the play-off seeding works the draft order is based on lowest to highest scorer irrespective of division. Therefore Paul has the 1st and Wayne the 16th pick. The full order is Paul, John, Aaron, Phil, David S, Ron, Cheryl, Johnny, Andy H, Marcus, Chief, Dave G, AP, Daz, Mark and Wayne. There are extra picks at the end of the 5th round for Aaron and Cheryl as they cut their 1st year franchise players.
All-Time Points Leader
The calculations have been made and Johnny continues to be the All-Time leading points scorer (see attached) with 4,562 points though Chief has closed the gap by another 23 points this year and is now just 42 behind. Wayne’s Championship winning (and equal highest score of all time) has kept him atop the average score table with a 4 year average of 504 points per season. Johnny is second with a 456.2 average amassed over an 10 year period while Chief averages 452.0. This only includes the regular season and as the play-offs are now well established after BUMSBowl IX we will see who plays best in the post-season.
BUMS on Seats
And then there were four. The Championship games are late on Sunday night so we are splitting them over two nights. We are at HQ from 8pm Sunday to see live the NFC Championship game as Atlanta travel to Philadelphia and we are at BUMS HQ from 6:30pm on Monday to see (off tape) the AFC decided as The Steelers host The Patriots. As a result the newsletter will be sent on Tuesday. SO PLEASE NO EMAILS NEXT MONDAY. Remember the Superbowl is not until the first Sunday in February (the 6th) so have a word with your boss and take Monday 7th off and come and join us for the usual Superbowl fun and games and Cheryl’s tasty morcels from around 11pm. Let us know if you can make it.
